To deepen understanding of cultures and customs by introducing and experiencing New Year's celebrations in various countries, including Japan, International Student Education and Support Center held a winter international exchange event called "New Year's Friendship." On the day of the event, not only international and Japanese students, but also many members of the public and children participated and experienced traditional Japanese New Year's culture such as mochi pounding, kadomatsu making, and calligraphy. They also enjoyed traditional games such as battledore and shuttlecock, daruma otoshi, and kendama. Furthermore, international students from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Italy, and Bangladesh shared information about New Year's celebrations in their respective home countries. The venue provided an opportunity to deepen exchanges with various people while enjoying Japanese New Year's dishes such as ozoni and toshikoshi soba.
