On October 31, 2024, Nagasaki Prefecture hosted a landmark regional seminar launching the "Nagasaki Model" (長崎県モデル)—a collaborative industry-academia-government framework designed to bridge critical talent shortages by welcoming elite IT professionals from Bangladesh. Rather than relying solely on traditional recruitment channels, this initiative integrates top computer science graduates through structured pathways involving Nagasaki University, JICA, and B-JET. The program focuses heavily on localization, ensuring incoming professionals receive hands-on training in business Japanese, cross-cultural communication, and practical technical deployment. The initiative marked a vital turning point for regional enterprises, such as 株式会社オリエントアイエヌジー (Orient ING), enabling them to onboard skilled global engineers into specialized roles like Digital Transformation (DX), 3D laser-scanning analysis, and advanced infrastructure surveying. By pairing technical capability with deep community engagement and grassroots cultural exchanges, the program successfully establishes a sustainable bridge for global talent to live, work, and build a peaceful future in Nagasaki.
